Product Description
Product Overview Product overview
The LRD-D30 series Guided Wave Radar is a measurement instrument based on the time-of-flight principle. Radar waves travel at the speed of light, and their travel time is converted into a level signal by electronic components. The probe emits high-frequency pulses that propagate along cable or rod-type probes. When these pulses encounter the material surface, they are reflected back and detected by the receiver built into the instrument. The distance signal is then transformed into a level reading. This technology is widely used in industries such as chemical processing, metallurgy, water resources, coal mining, and petroleum.
Product Principle THE PRODUCT PRINCIPLE
The general principle of a frequency-modulated continuous-wave radar level meter is that the radar emits electromagnetic waves from the top of the tank. When these waves encounter the medium and reflect back, they are received by the radar. The frequency difference δf between the received signal and the transmitted signal is directly proportional to the distance R from the radar to the surface of the medium: R = C (speed of light) × δf (frequency difference) / 2 / K (frequency modulation slope). Since both the speed of light C and the frequency modulation slope K are known, once the frequency difference δf is calculated, the distance R—the height of the material surface relative to the radar installation point—can be determined. Finally, by subtracting this "empty space" distance (the space between the radar and the material surface) from the tank's total height (known beforehand), we can accurately determine the actual material level inside the tank.

Installation Requirements INSTALLATION

When installing the instrument, avoid positioning it directly above the feed inlet, and try to keep it clear of any objects that could interfere with the signal, such as agitator blades.

There must be no obstructions above the feed inlet or below the instrument.

Under extremely complex operating conditions, with no obstructions within a 20-cm radius centered on the radar installation point, the instrument can function normally.
